Reboot your system with Good4U’s Pretox and Detox. We have decided that it would be a good idea to do a detox next week! A detox is a process in which a person makes lifestyle changes in order to clear their body from toxins. Some reported benefits include an increase in energy, clearer skin, a stronger immune system and weight loss.

What is a detox?

It is important to note, the diet that you will follow on the JUICE day is not nutritionally complete, albeit it will provide you with significant levels of anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals. It is not advisable to follow a juice diet on an ongoing basis as this diet will be deficient in a number of very important food groups such as fibre, essential fats, protein and carbohydrates.

Before our 3 day detox, we are going to pretox! The idea behind a pretox is to prepare your body for the detox. It will help reduce the risk withdrawal symptoms and maximise your results.

What is a pretox?


The week leading up to your detox, follow these simple steps;

  1. Reduce your intake of caffeine and alcohol


Tip 1: Reduce your intake of caffeine and alcohol

Try swapping your coffee for some decaf herbal tea as too much caffeine can increase your risk of dehydration. Reduce the amount of alcohol you consume as it can rob your body of essential nutrients while been broken down.


  1. Sleep well

Tip 2: Sleep WellAim to get at least 8 hours of good quality sleep as it’s a requirement for the renewal of your body’s cells. Ditch the TV and phone, practice a relaxing bed time routine to promote a good night’s sleep. Try taking a hot shower or listen to some relaxing music .


  1. Hydrate

Tip 3: Hydrate

Aim to drink 1.5-2 liters of water per day. A hydrated body is a happy body! It will also help flush out toxins and promote healthy skin.





  1. Reduce your intake of processed foods

Tip 4: Reduce your intake of processed foodsProcessed foods have had a deliberate change made to them before becoming available to eat. Although these foods are convenient, they can have large amounts of salt, sugar and fat hidden in them! Choose whole foods, fruit, vegetables, seafood and seeds.



Our Detox will run next Tuesday to Thursday and it will include one day of juicing. For the other two days we will be eating three extra healthy meals. There are plenty of recipes on the Good4U website that you can either follow or use to inspire your inner chef!
