Grace Cassley is the Assistant Quality Manager based in Cookstown. She joined the team in August 2014 after graduating with a degree in Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition from Queen’s University in 2013.
When asked what Grace does in her spare time … “I like to go out for dinner and bake a lot, I love going to the spa and spending time with family and friends”
We asked Grace what is his favourite thing about working at Good4U:
She says that her favourite thing about working Good4U is that every day is different, “it’s a small company so the job is really varied and I like the fact it is a family run business”
Favourite products: Good4U Cranberry & Apricot Super Seed Snack
Martin Beirne is the longest serving non family member of the Good4U team having joined the company back in 2010. Martin works in the Accounts Department as a financial assistant and primarily works on large customer orders including delivery and invoicing so if you’ve ordered something from us, he’s probably the guy who charged you for it!
Martin is big into his sports, particularly GAA and is a keen supporter of his local and county team. He’s so fond of it, he’s the treasurer of his local club. You’ll often find him on match day chilling out somewhere in the stands either jumping with joy or keeping his head down, depending on the final result. Martin grew up on a farm so helps out there from time to time, he’s well able to distinguish between a fine looking Friesian and Dexter!
We asked Martin what he most likes about working at Good4U:
“I’ve enjoyed watching the team develop and grow continually. I’m a point of contact for a lot of customers getting in touch with us with their feedback on our products, the glowing reports are definitely along the lines of ego-boosting which makes me proud to be working for Good4U.
Favourite Product: Good4U Chilli Seed Mix – I like the taste of spice and this hits the spot every time!
Aine Feeney graduated from UCD with a degree in Food Science. She has always had a massive interest in healthy food and keeping well in general, so when she secured work placement with Good4U in 2014 it was a dream come true! “I had a fantastic summer learning about the food industry. I gained fantastic knowledge about some of the super foods Good4U packed into their nutritious and delicious products. Then after I graduated I got the chance to come back to Good4U as their quality assistant manager and of course I jumped at the opportunity to re-join the team!
In her spare time she loves to shop. She would shop everyday all day if it was possible! “If I am being good I do enjoy the gym during the week but at the weekends it is all about relaxation and of course some shopping!”
What is your favourite thing about working at Good4U?
“The team at Good4U are great, we all have so fun together and there is never a shortage of laughs! However it is also great to have a team who pull together so well during busy periods. It really is a pleasure to come to work every morning and be greeted by such a warm and friendly team!”
Favourite Good4U product: I am in love with the new Super Bites, such lovely healthy treats full of goodness!
Ricardo Martins, our awesome Graphic Designer, is a Brazilian guy with an Italian heritage who moved to Ireland in 2013, all with the aim of improving his English and travel across Europe. Now that he has pretty much grasped the English language, the next one to learn is the Irish language, (Gaelic) be it only a few words.
Ricardo also writes his own blog in his native language on his experiences of living in Ireland and visiting Europe, so if you’ve brushed up on your Portuguese or have a good translator tool. So far Ricardo has already been to 11 countries and has no plans to slow down until he scratches off all of Europe on his new cool scratch map.
Ricardo has got his degree in Social Communication – Graphic Design & Advertising in Brazil in 2010 and joined Good4U in April 2013.
We asked Ricardo what is his favourite thing about working at Good4U:
At Good4U I’ve got to learn not just English, but a totally different and innovative way to live life and do business. Being so far away from home, it’s good to feel that I’m part of something great, which do great for other peoples lives.
Favourite Product: Good4U Super Sprouts
Let us introduce you to Karol Butler, the Good4U Financial Controller, or as we like to call him, The Bean Counter. The eldest of the Butler siblings, Karol has dedicated his time and skills to Good4U since 2009 following a year of travelling around the world.
To unwind, you’ll either find Karol on his way up a mountain on a trek or by the water trying to catch that evening’s dinner. As well as his interest in trekking and fishing, he is also passionate about golfing (he’s too modest to tell us his handicap but we reckon it’s in single figures) and going horse racing so if you’re looking for the next winner, Karol is the go to man around these parts. We don’t encourage taking his advice every time though!
We asked Karol what he most enjoys about working with Good4U:
“It has been a serious challenge for all of us in the family but all of the hard work is starting to pay off. Seeing more and more people buy into something which we have worked so hard to promote is fantastic and can only be good for everyone concerned. A lot of our customers are quite passionate about our products and nothing makes us happier than the emails we receive from them telling us how much the products mean to them”
We’re surprised he didn’t reply with the fact he gets to see his mum and sisters every day!
Favourite Product: That’s a tough one. I think the Good4U Super Sprouts are an excellent product and have some powerful research to back it up. I’d say them and the Good4U Chilli Seed Mix would be my favourites although you can ask me that question again in a few months when the new products have been released as some of them are amazing.
Meet Laura O’Sullivan, the Sales and Marketing Director or as we like to call her, ‘The idea Generator.’ She is also the eldest daughter of the Butler family and shortly followed her mum Bernie and sister Michelle in to the family business when in 2005 she joined Good4U and has helped raise the company from the ground up to where it is now.
Laura is a busy mum of 2, and we don’t use the term ‘busy’ very lightly! We asked Laura what she likes to do to unwind after a busy day at the office – she laughed at us! With 2 young children, she kindly reminded us that she doesn’t get the same free time to unwind that we all crave. If on the off chance that she does get some ‘children free’ time, Laura spends her time outdoors walking along the beach dipping her feet in the water and clearing her thoughts by listening to chilled out music. If on the off chance that the water is warm enough, she’ll even dive straight into the sea for a swim.
We asked Laura what she most likes about working at Good4U: The ever changing happenings around the site, no two days are the same, in fact!
Again, another family member who didn’t reply by saying they most enjoy working with their siblings!
Favourite Product: This was a tough one for Laura, she couldn’t choose just one product so we let her choose one from each category, Seed and Sprouts. Her favourite seed mix is Good4U Multi Seed Mix (she uses them every morning for breakfast) and her favourite Sprout mix the is Good4U Quinoa Sprout Mix
Our Company Dietitian/Nutritionist Michelle Butler is the third member of the Butler family. She obtained her PG Dip in Dietetics from Kings College London. Prior to this she completed a BSc Hons in Human Nutrition at the University of Ulster, where she contributed to published research on the effects of Watercress on Colorectal Cancer. It was during this time that Michelle completed her placement in Industry which happened to be a project on Good4U.
She carried out the feasibility study on Good4U with her Mum Bernie and following this spent a number of years working in Research & Development which was instrumental in the successful development and launch of our range of fresh functional foods.
Michelle recognises that a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle will help to maintain weight, enhance general wellbeing and reduce the risk of a number of diseases. She has gained a wealth of experience in industry, and both the private and public health sector.
Alongside her development role in Good4U, Michelle spends 2 days a week as Google’s in house Dietitian at their EMA Headquarters in Dublin. Previously she managed a clinic on Harley Street, London for 2 years and covered a GP nutrition clinic specialising in weight management, digestive disorders, nutrition support, exclusion diets and diabetes. Prior to this she worked in acute care managing a number of wards namely Respiratory, Elderly Care, Surgical, Endocrine and General.
Michelle is happy to offer her expert advice on any areas of nutrition and food and hopes to support you to make the changes necessary to achieve your goals long term whether they are related to health or lifestyle or both.
She is a regular commentator on nutritional matters for an Irish radio show and has featured in numerous press articles in the UK and Ireland.
Back in 2004 Bernie Butler was introduced to the wonderful benefits of Super Sprouts and alongside her daughter Michelle started an exciting journey to make sprouted seeds more accessible for everyone.
Imaginably, being CEO of a busy, growing company doesn’t allow for much free time. She is delighted to have been appointed the new President of ESSA European Sprouted Safety Association. Constantly improving and challenging the way we do things is part of our mantra.
Finding time to walk the beaches in Rosses Point is a must. Her passion for the arts and tourism is borne out is her role as Chair of the Model Arts Centre. Bernie appreciates fine art and is well able to spot the Monet in a large crowd of paintings. She also appreciates a nice bottle of wine after a busy week.
We asked Bernie what she most likes about working at Good4U:
“Quite simple really. The satisfaction that I get knowing that what we do is indeed making a difference to peoples lives. I am not fanatical about healthy eating, I simply do it as part of the course. Most of all it is great to work with my family you get to share the good days and not so good together. My favourite expression, which I stole from my wonderful mother in law is FHT, Family Hold Tight!”
